    Colgate Savacol is a chlorohexidine gluconate mouth rinse clinically proven in the treatment of gingivitis. Can be use as a pre-procedural disinfectant or post-periodontal surgery.

    HOW IT WORKS

    Chlorohexidine gluconate interacts with the bacterial cell wall, inhibiting dental plaque formation.

    PRODUCT INDICATION:

    Gingivitis.
    At-home use for patients with gingivitis, maintenance of oral hygiene in the physically or mentally handicapped and in post periodontal surgery1,4

    MODE OF ACTION:

    Chlorohexidine gluconate interacts with the bacterial cell wall, inhibiting dental plaque formation. It can also help treat halitosis.

    ACTIVE INGREDIENT(S):

    - 2mg/mL chlorhexidine gluconate (original & alcohol free) 
    - 1.2mg/mL chlorhexidine gluconate (freshmint)

    COLGATE SAVACOL MOUTHWASH - DO NOT USE IF CAP SEAL IS BROKEN.
    DIRECTIONS:

    Adults use 15ml of undiluted Savacol - Freshmint or 10 ml undiluted Savacol Original & Alcohol Free. 
    Children under 10 years use 7.5 ml of undiluted Savacol - Freshmint or 5 ml undiluted Savacol Original & Alcohol Free.
    RINSE & GARGLE FOR 1 FULL MINUTE AFTER MEALS. Spit out. If throat or mouth infection persists , seek dental or medical advice.

    MOUTH ULCERS:

    Reduces discomfort of mouth ulcers. Rinse 3 times daily.

    DENTAL PLAGUE & GINGIVITIS:

    reduces dental plaque and the incidence of gingivitis. Rinse twice daily. For maximum benefit use after brushing and flossing.

    POST DENTAL TREATMENT:

    On advice of your dentist only.

    DENTURE MOUTHWASH:

    To prevent denture breath. Mouthwash daily in addition to denture cleaning.

    CAUTION:

    Savacol may: 

    *  Lead to temporary change in taste perception.

    *  Cause reversible staining of the teeth and tooth-coloured restorations.

    *  Lead to increased tartar production. 

    Stains resulting from the use of Savacol will not adversely affect gum health and can be removed by dental professionals.  Severe allergic reactions to chlorhexidine can occur.  The patient should stop use and seek medical advice if this occurs.
